  3. took over the Celtics as a player-
  4. coach. He was the first African-
  5. American to coach a major league
  6. professional team in any sport. In
  7. 1968 and 1969, Bill guided the
  8. Celtics to two NBA championships.
  9. He later served as general
  10. manager and coach of the Seattle
  11. SuperSonics and was head coach
  12. of the Sacramento Kings for the
  13. 1987-88 season.
